His second SYC event and first Super Slam: twenty games, four patterns, and a statement bounce-back after his roughest block of the weekend.
Tournament Overview
The Super Slam was the longest test of Arryn's young SYC career to that point: twenty games over four sport-pattern blocks at Bowlerama in New Castle, just his second SYC event ever. In a 36-deep U15 Boys field, he finished 15th, 3,603 pins at a 180.2 average.
The weekend was a study in highs and lows. He posted two top-10 blocks and two rough ones, but the most telling stretch came back to back across two different medium patterns, where he answered his worst block of the weekend with his best.

Two Mediums, One Big Response
Two different medium patterns, back to back. Medium 1 was his lowest block of the weekend, 798 pins at a 159.6 average, 30th of 36 in the round. On Medium 2 he answered with 992 at a 198.4 average, 9th in the round: a 194-pin swing in block total and a 38.8-pin jump in average.
How the Standings Moved
He opened 211 and was 6th after one game, and 10th after the Short block.
Medium 1 was his lowest block, 798 pins, and after a 138 in game nine he was 21st, his lowest point of the event.
Medium 2 turned it. A 248 and a 237 in games fourteen and fifteen, then a 222 to start the Long block, lifted him to 9th after sixteen games. The Long block, 854 pins, gave most of that back, and he finished 15th of 36.

Why This Result Matters
The final standing, 15th of 36, only tells part of the story. The part that matters most is what happened between the two medium blocks. Plenty of young bowlers let a 159 block snowball into a lost weekend. Arryn did the opposite, regrouping on the next medium and coming back with a 198, a near 40-pin swing in average.
That ability to reset, to treat a bad block as information rather than a verdict, is one of the hardest things to teach and one of the clearest signs of a competitor still climbing. In a 20-game grind early in his SYC career, it was the most valuable thing he carried home.
